The Colorado landscape has inspired me my entire life. Growing up in the foothills, I’ve spent many hours observing, drawing, photographing, and painting various facets of our state’s beauty. I continually attempt to recreate, emphasize, or reinvent the unique lighting and textures in the subject matter I view. My love and admiration of the out-doors runs deep, and I am consistently inspired and awed by our state’s natural beauty.

I grew up next to the river, and am still drawn to both the its calming allure and raging energy. I find solace in nature, especially the river, and seek it in times of trouble. The beauty of my chosen subject matter symbolizes a great deal to me– the passing of time, both stability and change, as well as the capacity to love and forgive in the midst of chaos, but above all– hope. There is a healing, centering, and grounding quality that spending time outdoors gives me and I strive to relay that in my work, as well as the im-portance of conserving these natural gifts we are so fortunate to still possess.

I went to school from Kindergarten to High School in Loveland, CO and graduated from Colorado State with a B.F.A. in Painting, as well as a Bachelors in Art Education. Over the past 15 years I have taught art to children ranging in age from Kindergarten to high school in three different Colorado districts and currently teach art to Kindergarten through eighth grade in the Thompson School District. I live in Fort Collins with my wonderful family and we love both spending time outdoors, traveling, and making things together.
